Maybe I got a fluke, but Sony's so-called "beefy laptop" computer in an 8" create factor is like trying to accelerate Vista on your mom's feeble P3. Seriously, this thing absolutely crawls. All this would be acceptable were it not for the very mediocre battery life (forget 4 hours, I couldn't even manage 2 with moderately heavy employ), when any other netbook (that's suitable, netbook) for well under half the mark outperforms it in battery life AND performance. Ironic; the 1.33Ghz processor really is a step down from the 1.66Ghz Atoms in netbooks, despite what I've been told to the contrary about the different "architecture."

But that's objective on the hardware front. It powers on snappily enough, but just from the get-go you're slammed with loads of bloatware and tons of programs that are dull to load into memory, one after the other (that's fair, it's not even a dual core) . These can be uninstalled--though not cleanly, as they leave some registry junk data leisurely. But there's minute that can be done about yet another software-related problem: drivers. The video driver on here is one of the worst experiences I've had to date with video displays. HD video was an absolute concern, even though the chipset (google "Poulsbo" or GMA500) claims it to be able to decode 720p HD video. So when I tried to play a simple HQ youtube vid (not even HD) and met with stuttering far worse than my friend's Asus Eee PC, which cost about 350, I was understandably upset. As for the faster disk drive with the SSD, this may be fair. But when you can't speed even basic productivity apps at corpulent hurry, any HD race increase was unnoticeable. My Eee for instance has a mature "plain" HD but gets the job done (except for copying files) remarkable more like a flash.

A lot of this might be Vista's fault. But before you assume of downgrading to the faster, lighter XP, let me warn you--you'll have even more issues with Sony's drivers. Linux? Forget about it; Intel's Poulsbo drivers are in a pitiful situation there too. When the most interesting attribute of the system--the hi-res mask, mind you--is nearly unusable with any other options, one can't abet but feel a bit ripped off. The webcam's quality isn't very kindly (the Eee wins again), and the WWan (mobile broadband) is locked to Verizon, so don't reflect about other companies unless you "unlock" the chip: more time and worry. The wireless-N succor is supposed to be spacious, but it was dodgy on my home network (maybe it was objective my unit or config...or vista, but again, my other devices worked graceful) . They keyboard and ergonomics are beautiful, but again, the only obliging words for this unit, for this imprint, are surface-deep.

Parting advice: the reviews on this "Lifestyle PC" are grievous for safe reason. I really wish I'd seen Amazon's reviews earlier. (This unit wasn't from Amazon but from Sony themselves) .

I like Sony product overall, but this product was not too mark at all. I purhcased this 2 week ago, with 2 extra battery, fade bag, external VGA/Cat-5 network adapter (since I am traveling a lots and need a dinky notebook to do my work while traveling) . Upon receive, it looks very icy, tiny and liteweight, but after expend it, I am kind of disappoint, it is Wearisome ( may be I acquire extinct to my 14.1 2.0G CPU, vs of this Atom dull CUP, for positive is insensible) . I know I can not return it, so I am planning to sell on eBay with discount, it can not really do my works at all (my wife is upset with me to only useit for few days and few hundred off to sell on ebay) . I guess the Windows Vista Home and netbook CPU(Atom) is the main reason design it humdrum, most netbook reach with XP (catch less memory) . [...]

Also, the point to text is too cramped to read(but it demonstrate all hiss within this high res. petite LCD, invent sense), I have to spot text font to 150%, but compare to my regular notebook 14.1 notebook tranquil itsy-bitsy. I would say, overall, this notebook can funcion as checking email and browse internet and looks frigid, if you need a very microscopic notebook and not too concern about hurry and storage plot for your daily simple works, this is expedient one.

by the procedure, key board size and battery life is sparkling noble, I like it.

I like size but would rather occupy a slight weight Vaio with a Blu Ray Disk player for my utilize so I could utilize DVD's in the newest format and that would be worth the extra money. So until they can add that kind of entertainment it seems no better than having a I Touch actually better to have something like that than unprejudiced a very runt computer you can't utilize for many things yet.

No Thanks I would stick with Sony Vaio computers with lowest weight and be entertained and have it all!! OH Yeah! BS

Right on the cloak of the installation manual, item #1(!) includes text and an illustration informing the owner that this unit MUST be installed with a rearward slope. Following this simple instruction will prevent any water issues. Please don't afflict your A/C by drilling holes in it. I've owned a very similar model for about five years, but am delighted to describe that this novel model (which I've installed in another room) is even better: nice controls, strong fan and cooling capability, and unruffled.

It was a astronomical deal since the shipping was free. The ac installed easily in an existing sleeve that was through the wall. Remarkable more efficient than the ancient ac, cools well etc.

Unit was installed leisurely last topple. During a heavy rain this spring, we had rainwater rolling into the family room via the wall insert. We first blamed the recent wall insert, but on closer examination found the A/C itself collects rain water; the bottom of the A/C has no drains at all. Once the water is high enough in the A/C unit, it has nowhere to go but into the house.

I drilled a couple of holes in the bottom of the unit...that should engage care of things.

I have been in the RV repair industry for a long time and one thing is for determined, I cannot do my job without a top quality meter. I have in the past bought Snap-On, Mac, Matco,ect, but have never been as overjoyed with a meter as I have with this one. Beyond the normal functions of a meter, I appreciate this one for its temp probe, no more are the days of carrying a therometer to retract readings inside fride, a/c/ unit, all I do is creep it into the meter keep the probe inside and shut the door within 30 seconds I have a very apt reading. But probably the most primary thing about this merter is the "proper RMS" readings I earn, this is very significant when working with power converters and inverters..This meter is very well protected also with fuses (fuses are pricey though) have not blown one yet but I would recommend purchasing a status to retain on hand.

First, Fluke itself: Fluke makes best-quality meters. In fact, they are overwhelmingly regarded as the best meters available. That's not to say there aren't other very suited brands (e.g., Agilent, Hioki), or that 2nd tier brands (e.g., Extech, Meterman) don't have their spot - they do. But Fluke meters in general offer the combination of best specifications, best acquire, and best protection (for you as well as the meter) . The thing is, you will pay top dollar.

The 87 is a very tough meter in very widespread exhaust in the field. The 80 series meters, like the 70 series that preceeded them, have a reputation for holding their accuracy and lasting for decades. Finally, the 80 series carries a lifetime warranty. Considering Amazon's aggressive pricing on these meters, the premium over a lesser meter like, say, the Fluke 117 (which carries only a 3-year warranty) is obscene enough that it makes sense to upgrade to the better meter.

I've extinct a couple of cheap multimeters in the past. Once I ordered my original tube amp, the manufacturer recommended not to consume a cheap multimeter, and acquire a Fluke 87-5 as this would give fair readings.

Well, after spending that great on the tube amp, I had to catch the Fluke. Upon receiving it, compose quality was suitable. Manual was also handsome superior. Although, the manual presupposes that you know how to work a multimeter unit already. I had to slowly figure it out as I am no engineer.

Bottom line, this is a gigantic product! I only wish it were readily available in the Philippines. The designate of this here in Manila is double srp in the US.

I know unprejudiced enough about Audio to be hazardous but I'm not a right audiophile (or whatever they're called) . So I don't know how an average person would figure this out when it took me an hour and a half on the phone with Sony attend before THEY figured it out.

Now this is my second Sony receiver and I purchased this one specifically to go along with my designate original Sony BDP-S360 Blu Ray player. I aged note unique HDMI category 2 cables into the receiver and then out to my Sony HDTV. This is suppossed to be the BEST plan to accumulate accurate no-loss sound decoding and relate. Well I was afraid when my receiver was NOT decoding DTS audio. All Dolby Digital tracks were playing in perfect 5.1 surround sound...the DTS tracks played befriend in Linear PCM stereo. So after I read the manuals, updated the firmware and region everything honest then trying a few DVDs and Blu Ray discs I contacted Sony Relieve via email. Several exchanges later they asked me to call in to better troubleshoot my deliver. First I talked to the blu ray guy (since I wasn't definite which procedure was causing the deny) and after resetting the player and checking all the setting I was transfered to the Audio department. Once again we reset the machine to factory setting, checked all the status ups and peaceful nothing changed (Did I mention that I had to unhook and reconnect several cables and I even had an optical cable running to my feeble Sony Reciever? ) . Then 1 1/2 hours into the phone call he asked if I was getting audio through the TV speakers which I was and he said "oh its site to TV + Amp". So we changed that setting to unbiased "Amp" and bingo...DTS surround sound!! I said "but that's the factory default setting". He told me where the info was in the manual but I checked an NOWHERE in the manual does it say that when using the receiver as a passthrough via HDMI inorder to decode a DTS signal the receiver must be plot to "Amp" only and not the default setting of "TV + Amp". What the...??

So now the receiver works enormous even decoding the unusual DTS-HD Master Audio off my "Watchmen" Blu Ray disc. But be warned that if you exercise the HDMI inputs to decode your surround sound be determined to change the system to "Amp" instead of the default "TV + Amp" unless you devour stereo sound from your suround sound system. This may be the case for other Sony receivers so be aware when buying that factory default setting may not allow for optimum performance and the Sony guys might not be aware of this puny fact if you call them.

The DH800 wasn't yet available when I started shopping for a original receiver a couple of months abet. Even though the 700 was being heavily discounted at the time, the 800 had enough next-generation features (DTS-HD decoding, Dolby Digital + and a couple THX modes) to prompt me to absorb off a while. And it was worth it. This is an astonishing value for a mid-range receiver. After going through the manual, the setup (tuning it for a room) looked unbelievably complex. You had the ability to electronically space each speaker (forget balance controls!) . Then, I found the allotment that explained what the limited microphone was for. Wire everything up. Power it on. Establish the mic where your ears will be and press the "go" button. Your system sounds like an Atari video game for about 20 seconds and you're done. Much.

Part of my motivation for staying with Sony is that it plays so well with Sony-brand components via Bravia Sync. My DH800 is plugged into an XBR camouflage and will be joined by a BDP-S560 Blu Ray when it ships this summer. Yes, I tend to be Sony-biased. I've worked in TV production on and off for a lot of years and now use a beautiful amount of time in Oregon's first (and smooth best, IMHO) HDTV studio. On cameras, switchers and displays, the Sony nameplate figures prominently. As with DH800 and XBR camouflage, has proven it smooth excels in convenience, consistence and logical interface earn.

The rest of the system is a bit of a hybrid (I'm not a immense fan of Sony speakers) . My significant front speakers are veteran and broken-down (Canoga Park-era) Infinity 2500's, B&W VM-1 surrounds, HTM-61 center and a truly astounding Hsu Research VTF-1 subwoofer. However, the auto-calibration has this menagerie blending together seamlessly.

The only down-side I've found so far is that the encourage panel (particularly the gargantuan cluster of speaker terminals) is elegant crowded and the speaker lugs tend to be a bit sticky and troublesome. Sony seems to have skimped a bit on the connectors they chose. Beyond that, it's a beautifully designed and executed component that will really shine when attached to Sony's next-gen Blu-Ray.

Don't be fooled by the manual or by descriptions on other AV retailer websites... This model does NOT include analog->digital upconversion. If you have a mixture of recent and older devices this will not allow you to spend a single HDMI cable to your point to. It provides input switching, but if you provide a composite or component video input, then you must exercise the corresponding output to understanding that source. Only HDMI inputs are routed to the HDMI output. The manual suggests that you do not need to connect all of the outputs. In a sense I bellow that is good, but but only if you don't connect to all of the various types of inputs!

As long as you understand the specs, this seems like a nice receiver.

I could not determine between the Polaris and the Neptune...the main inequity is that the Neptune comes with a turbo brush and the parquet twister. I fair received it today & have been anticipating it's arrival since I ordered it on Saturday...I am crazy in treasure. I have never owned a vacuum that has setting controls...I cleaned the velvet drapes in room on the lowest setting, works like a charm. I vacuumed all the window sills, door & window moldings, 1731 sq ft of wood floor, bathroom tile & vacuumed the stucco walls in the kitchen. Oh by the map the maids were objective here yesterday...I did not care. The house looked perfect but now I know it's perfect.

I vacuumed while my daughter was napping...I could have never done that w/the factual Kenmore I'm retiring. I'm so satisfied with this steal. I will update this review in 6 months (writing reminder in my Franklin) . Yes, yes esteem is in the air. XXOXOO

Wow, I had a very hard time spending this remarkable money for a Vacuum. It was worth every penny. I have vacuumed every surface it my house twice! Build money someplace else. When you view at how long you have a vacuum then this is money well spent. It moves easy, is smart light, the tools give you an option for every surface. The normal floor tool rotates in a plan that lets you accept into petite spots under furniture. It is so peaceful. Esteem care for savor the retractable cord. I wish all appliances had that feature. Oh and it's graceful. I am sold on Miele.

Did a lot of research on several models, mostly avoiding Miele due to the high cost. Amazon has a mammoth label and of course beneficial service and return policy, but I went with All Vacuum Depot in Irvine, CA for this Neptune model because they gave me a spacious deal and 3 extra warranty years on top of Miele's already worthy coverage. Sean and Jason could not have been more excellent.
